Before I got to know more about feminism I have always had doubts about the kind of feminism that is practiced by women in Nigeria. Let me first say that feminism and gender equality are two worlds apart . Feminism is all about women's right,  to fairness in treatment at the work place( especially in salary) ,  marriage,  rights to vote,  rights to speak up for what she believes in without being labelled 'woman talk'  , feminism is about speaking up for voiceless women eg on rape cases and domestic violence. Nigerian women( most of them)  need to be educated on what feminism is about. I think the pain of being in terrible relationships has robbed them of their ability to think in a straight and logical way.
